Size matters. Our tenure is about 648,000 acres and includes 2 glaciers and the Juneau Icefield. Our tenure would cover more than 15% of Switzerland. We are more than 120 times bigger that Vail Resort with ski runs ranging from 800-1800 vertical meters (2500 to 6000 feet). There’s lots of space for only 12 guests at a time.

Our “classic” program shares two A-Star helicopters for a maximum of 3 groups of 4 guests. Private guests have their own A-Star helicopter at their group’s disposal.

We recommend skiers and boarders be intermediate (blue) to advanced (black) ski resort skiers/riders but we can cater to all abilities. If you feel relatively comfortable on varied terrain and snow conditions, you should be fine. As you progress through the trip your confidence and capabilities will grow and we will be able to introduce you to more challenging terrain. The best way to learn to ski deep powder is to ski deep powder!

If you want to take advantage of our unlimited vertical, fitness is important. If you want to be skiing consecutive days, the fitter you are, the better your ski holiday will be and the more fun you will have. Gold Rush Heli also offers amazing activities (dog sledding, snow mobiles, x-country skiing, snowshoes and aurora tours). There’s lots of fun things to do for those wanting to take a “rest day” or “non-skiers” still wanting to join the fun.

Being in the northwest corner of BC, tucked under the Yukon and bordering Alaska, we have the most consistent, best guaranteed snow on the planet. Atlin is warmer than Whitehorse and the closer we get to Alaska and the coast, the deeper the snow pack gets. With our massive terrain we can hand pick the best conditions every day. The future of heli skiing is in the north as southern climates get warmer and wetter. February through May offers the best snow in our neck of the woods. Our snow stays dry as you can imagine so think bottomless powder in Feb, March, April and May. Spring skiing offers long hours of daylight as we approach the solstice.

Absolutely! Our culinary team prepares every meal from scratch. Prior to joining us, our guest services team connects with each guest to ensure we are aware of any dietary requirements.

Absolutely. It is your vacation so you choose to ski as long, or short, of a day as you wish. In fact, some guests prefer to ski a half day or come in earlier to relax before après begins. Your guide and pilots will accommodate this request by coordinating the timing with one of our helicopters coming to the lodge to refuel. Moose Hill Lodge is a vacation destination in itself. We have a glorious acreage overlooking Atlin Lake with grounds to snow shoe, x-country ski, skate on the lake, lounge in the hot tub, relax in the sauna or kick back in the evening and watch the northern lights.  Summers here are equally as divine!

Yes. All of our guests, even if not heliskiing, are required to complete our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement (the “Waiver”). By signing the Waiver, you accept the risks, dangers and hazards associated with heliskiing and being at our wilderness lodge.
